My Top 5 Everyday Hair Products

Updated: Dec 28, 2018

Hey loves! I'm not sure if I'm about to be totally cliché, or make someone's night. I'm here to tell you all the details about my top 5 favorite hair products!

I'm not sure if its totally common knowledge at this point, but I'm surprisingly low maintenance with my hair. Now, I don't mean my color.. or that I don't absolutely love extensions.. I mean more on the styling front. I have my favorites that I use every time I style my hair & I pretty much don't stray past that. Of course I have a ton of favorites I use in the salon on other hair types. I can also do a post on each hair need if that's something y'all would be interested in. I can do a wet to dry hair tutorial too. I have a few floating around between my Instagram, hair pages, and beauty Facebook group.. but none of them start from square one. Drop a comment down below and let me know!

Any who - enough rambling. Let's get to the goods, in the order I would use them!

My top 5 everyday hair products

*I will link all products to an online retailer, but anyone local to me can also purchase them at Salon Luna*

1: Amika The Wizard

I can't rave about this product enough. It's the entire reason I switch to mostly Amika at the salon. It kind of does everything. It prep and primes the hair, protects from heat and environmental damage, speeds up your dry time, detangles the hair, and just gives an over all amazing blow dry. If you aren't sure where to start with hair products in general.. this is it! oh yeah, not to mention, Amika products smell flipping amazing! Spray on towel dried hair and style as desired.

2: Amika Un.Done Texturizing Spray

Ever wonder how people get that messy second day disheveled hair, on day one? This stuff right here. It's the bomb. It's almost like a dry shampoo and hairspray had a baby. When I'm finished styling, I like to just fluff sections of my hair and spray it throughout each section. Anywhere I want texture and a little volume. You get a little bit of hold too, but nothing too crazy.

3: IGK Broken Dreams Texture Paste

Seeing a pattern here? This is really my styling secret weapon. I use a dime size of this paste through my finished hair and it gives it even more texture, and a lot of piecey-ness. Yes, that's totally a word. This is sort of a dry shampoo and pomade mixture. It's a gritty, matte finish, pomade. This is also great for the men in your life that secretly want to use a styling product, but don't want anyone to know they're using anything. The matte finish and not-too-strong hold give just the right amount of style.

4: Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

I live by dry shampoo. I have enough hair for 4 people, so I despise hair washing days. This baby lets me get a little more wear out of my hair, without looking like I've used a dry shampoo. It has the same amazing smell as all the other Amika products, but no white residue.

5: IGK First Class Dry Shampoo

Now this dry shampoo means business. It has activated Charcoal to soak up the most serious of oils/smells in the hair. This is what I use when I really really need to wash my hair, but I just don't have the time. Whatever you do, make sure you don't spray this on the top of your hair. Only underneath the sections & brush through. Otherwise you're going to have a white-ish cast over your hair. It means business though, and will get you through the dirtiest of days.

*One tip for both dry shampoos and the texture spray, shake them well before use. They are essentially a powder and an accelerator. If you don't shake them, you can use up all the accelerator and leave your expensive product in the bottom. Trust me, I learned this the hard way!

These are my favorite products to use when I'm wearing my go-to beach waves. I hope they quickly become some of your favorites too!

Love y'all!
